The main body that defines Web standards is the W3C: World Wide Web Consortium.

Multimodality allow multiple modes of interaction: GUI, touch interfaces, voice, vision, pencils, gestures, etc.
An accessible web can be very nice and accessibility is not incompatible with good creative design. You can use scripts and flash, but following rules which pursue achieving described advantages.

WAI
The W3C created the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) working group to define the strategy and rules to follow to make a website accessible. There are 3 levels of compliance, identified by one, two or three AES (Advanced Encryption Standard).

Priority 2: WAI-AA
Priority 3: WAI-AAA
